The Veterans Research Foundation of Pittsburgh partners with the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System in the name of advancing medical research and the quality of care for our nations heroes.


Facilities

University Drive in Oakland is a comprehensive, acute care medical center with a combined 224 inpatient beds; 78 devoted to behavioral health and 146 distributed among medicine, surgery and critical care. This campus also includes our Research Office Building and the Pittsburgh Fisher House, a 10-suite home-away-from-home for loved ones of inpatients.

H.J. Heinz in O’Hara Township houses a 225-bed community living center—a VA Geriatric Center of Excellence—as well as a 96-bed Veterans Recovery Center for treating homelessness and addictions and an outpatient-focused Ambulatory Care Center.

Community-based Outpatient Clinics help Veterans access VA health
care in their communities. VA Pittsburgh supports five clinics:
Beaver County (Monaca, Pa.)
Belmont County (St. Clairsville, Ohio)
Fayette County (Uniontown, Pa.)
Washington County (Washington, Pa.)
Westmoreland County (Greensburg, Pa.)


Vet Centers offer readjustment counseling and outreach services to combat Veterans and their family members. Local offices are located in Pittsburgh, Pa., McKeesport, Pa. and Wheeling, W.Va.
